The action body and lockplates are engraved with fine English Arabesque scrolls with trace case color hardened inish. The lockplates are engraved “ARMY & NAVY C.S.L” near actions water table. The action is fit with double triggers, blacked engraved top lever with left side thumbpiece checkered and automatic safety with “SAFE” ahead of the scored safety slide. Deluxe quality walnut stock in classic straight hand format, vacant gold stock, 14 1/2″ LOP to a checkered butt, Cast Off 1/8″ at heel, 6 Lbs, so its fast to handle and perfect for the Grouse.

Arthur Turner had his guns made in Birmingham by a variety of makers, many by Webley & Scott. However, we believe this gun is made by W C Scott and is a fine example of guns from that era. Tight as a drum with 25 thou in both barrels and balance that is perfect.

A GT Brown which in all essence an E J Churchill. s/n 1956 28″ 12 Gauge choked Improved Cyclinder & Modified 2 3/4″ Chambers. This gun is an absolute one of a kind and will never be reproduced. If you want something completely unique, this is the gun for you. Great lightweight gun at just 6lb 4oz. Hardly been used with all barrel dimensions as it was made.

Here is a Huglu made DeHaan 20 gauge SXS SLE with 3″ chambers, single trigger, cross bolt, with a beaver tail forend and English straight grip. DAC 1-1/2″, DAH 2″ LOP is 14″ with a slight cast off for the right handed shooter. Weight 6lbs.-10oz.

This Huglu DeHaan S2 12 GA shotgun is a great choice for Waterfowl or Clays. Equipped with interchangeable chokes, 3″ chambers, 28″ barrels and a weight of 7lbs. 10oz to absorb those duck loads. This gun is very lightly used and in excellent shape.

This gun was completed in March 1892 for the Earl of Shannon as number 1 of a pair.

A beautiful pair of Dickson Round Bodies in 12 bore. No. 4097 & 4098 have 28″ chopper lump barrels that were professionally sleeved by the maker (sleeving not visible). 2-3/4″ chambers, choked IC and LF in gun 1 and IC and M in gun 2. Fine rose & scroll engraving with gold cocking indicators. Gun 1. is 6lbs-8oz and gun 2 is 6lbs.-12oz. both with 14-3/4″ LOP and minimal cast. We reluctantly will consider splitting this pair only because they are not truly composed. Both guns balance magically like a Dickson should.

A circa-1870 John Manton Son & Co. 12-bore double-barrelled hammergun built around the firm’s 1865-era mechanism. It has 30-inch bold Damascus barrels, a Jones patent rotary underlever, John Emme patent extractor mechanism, signed non-rebounding back-action locks, carved percussion fences and dolphin hammers. Fine border and bold acanthus-scroll engraving complete the gun.

Merkel 303E – Virtually Unused, Straight-Hand Elegance
A superb example of Merkel’s craftsmanship, this virtually unused Model 303E over-and-under 12-gauge features a straight-hand stock with a 14 5/8″ length of pull, 1.5″ drop at comb, and 2 1/4″ drop at heel. Choked Improved Modified and Full, it balances perfectly for both driven game and clays. With fine engraving and impeccable fit and finish, it is as much a collector’s piece as a working gun.
A notable piece of history accompanies it – gifted to a South African diplomat during the Apartheid era, this shotgun has seen almost no field use and remains in exceptional condition. s/n 96448

An 1877 Stephen Grant 12-bore sidelock ejector with 28-inch bold Damascus barrels nitro reproved in 2024. The gun features fluted leaf fences, removable striker discs, automatic gold-inlaid safety, triggers swept for left-hand use and fine acanthus-scroll engraving. Its figured stock is slightly cast for the left shoulder, and it is housed in a brass-cornered oak-and-leather case with reproduction trade label. No separate ownership provenance is given in the packet.

A 1901 Stephen Grant 12-bore sidelock ejector, serial no. 7242, fitted with 28-inch replacement nitro barrels in 1978. Features carved leaf fences, removable striker discs, slender top lever, automatic gold-inlaid safety and border-and-acanthus engraving. It carries a highly figured 15¼-inch replacement pistol-grip stock while retaining its original fore-end wood, which has damage near the knuckle. No separate ownership provenance is provided.

A 1904 W. Horton 12-bore boxlock, serial no. 2480, weighing 6 lb 5 oz with 28-inch barrels and a 15-inch length of pull. The source records the gun as having once been owned by Claude Bowes-Lyon, maternal grandfather of Queen Elizabeth II.

A matched pair of W. Horton Imperial 12-bore boxlock ejectors completed in 1906 and 1908, serial nos. 2365 and 2719. Both are higher-grade boxlock actions fitted with intercepting sears and Horton’s Polygrip top lever. The pair is described as light and lively, weighing 6 lb 9 oz and 6 lb 8 oz, and retains its original fitted case lined in regimental colours. Their serial numbers and configuration are described in the source as consistent with a true working pair rather than an unrelated later pairing.

A pair of 1908 W. Horton 12-bore assisted-opening sidelock ejectors with 28-inch barrels, signature fluted fences, Polygrip top lever, adjustable trigger pulls and a hidden third bite. The source describes the pair as sympathetically restored. They were reportedly presented to the family of their then-current owner by Lieutenant Arthur Alexander Pitcairn of the Black Watch, who served during the Second World War, including the Battle for Crete. The packet also records notable Pitcairn family military history extending back to Major John Pitcairn of the Royal Marines.

A 1904 W. W. Greener Grade F.H.35 Facile Princeps 12-bore ejector with 30-inch nitro barrels and 2½-inch chambers. The treble-grip action incorporates side bolsters and William Baker’s patent fore-end ejector system, patent no. 17292 of 1896, use no. 786. It retains much renewed colour-hardening and finish and has a figured replacement stock with horn-inlaid drop points.

W.W. Greener FH35 12 bore sidelock ejector has 28″ barrels with 2.5″ chambers and choke borings of 1/4 and full, gold inlaid ‘2’ on the top level, rib and forend, rib engraved ‘W.W. GREENER MAKER. 29 PALL MALL. LONDON. S.W. WORKS ST MARY’S SQUARE. BIRMINGHAM. Deeley and Edge forend catch, Greener cross bolt and rib extention, fine acanthus scroll engraving covering the Facile Princeps action and furniture.

1907 Westley Richards 12-bore 1897 Patent Detachable-Lock Ejector with both its original 30-inch barrels and a second 28-inch set fitted by the maker in 1965. Built with hand-detachable locks, patent top lever, automatic safety, detachable floorplate and extensive acanthus-scroll engraving with gold-inlaid maker’s name. The well-figured stock measures 16⅛ inches including its wooden extension. Maker records confirm its original completion for F.J. Scott, and supporting Westley Richards documentation accompanies the gun.

A circa-1904 Westley Richards 12-bore hand-detachable boxlock ejector with 28-inch replacement barrels fitted by the maker in 1968. Features a selective single trigger, removable base plate exposing the hand-detachable locks, doll’s-head extension and gold-signed maker’s name. Westley Richards confirms the gun was built circa 1904 and that the replacement barrels were fitted by the maker in 1968.

A Best Quality Boxlock Ejector by William Evans “From Purdey’s”. This 12 bore has 30 inch barrels, 2-1/2″ chambers, choked IM and 3/4.
