What to know before you inquire.
Is every gun shown currently available?
Availability can change. A catalogue record documents the gun and its details, but it does not guarantee that the gun remains available. Contact English Doubles and we will confirm the current status and listed price.
Does submitting an inquiry reserve a gun?
No. An inquiry begins a conversation and does not create a reservation, purchase or transfer. Any reservation terms, payment arrangements or other commitments will be explained and confirmed separately in writing.
What information can I request?
You may ask about dimensions, condition, proof marks, serial numbers, provenance, case and accessories, service history, restoration history and additional photography. Maker records and historical claims are identified only where supporting documentation is available.
Can an independent inspection be arranged?
Inspection options depend on the individual gun, its location and availability. Tell us what you would like reviewed and we will discuss what can reasonably be arranged before a transaction.
How are interstate transfers handled?
All transactions and transfers must comply with applicable federal, state and local law. When required, a firearm is shipped to an appropriate Federal Firearms Licensee in the buyer’s state, where required identification, forms and background-check procedures are completed. Buyers remain responsible for confirming their eligibility and local requirements. For general federal information, consult the ATF’s current guidance.
How are shipping and insurance handled?
Shipping method, destination, insurance, receiving-licensee information and associated costs are confirmed for the individual transaction. Nothing is shipped until the necessary information and requirements have been satisfied.
What are the payment and return terms?
Applicable payment, reservation, inspection and return terms are provided for review before a transaction is finalized. Please ask any questions before making a commitment.
